PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has confirmed that its website had been hacked and that it was investigating the incident.

The ministry said the site was still inaccessible as the probe continues.

“Recovery efforts are ongoing to ensure the portal is up and running as soon as possible,” it said in a statement.

The ministry said it was working closely with relevant agencies to boost its security system to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

“The public is advised to obtain official information from the ministry’s verified social media channels and other communication platforms during the disruption,” it said.

Earlier today, a social media user claimed that the ministry’s site had been hacked since early this morning.

The netizen also uploaded a screenshot of the website’s main page.
