Analyst taken aback by Sen. David McCormick's on air slip

Sen. David McCormick (R-PA) nearly used the word regime to describe the Trump administration during a Fox News appearance on "America's Newsroom," where he defended President Donald Trump's decision to initiate conflict with Iran.

In his Youtube Channel "David Parkman Show", political analyst David Pakman characterized McCormick's slip as Freudian. Arguing it reveled what many Americans believe to be true: the Trump administration is crossing into authoritarianism.

Pakman then defined the word regime, explaining it typically describes authoritarian governments rather than democracies.

The host also highlighted similarities between the Trump administration and other authoritarian systems, adding, "This is not a traditional president who respects democratic norms."

"This is a movement based on personal loyalty to the authoritarian idea that what Trump wants, Trump gets, and nobody should dare to question that."
