ABOITIZ POWER CORP. (AboitizPower) has energized its 92.55-megawatt-peak (MWp) San Manuel Solar Power Plant in Pangasinan, expanding its renewable energy portfolio and adding capacity to the Luzon grid.
The facility, developed by Aboitiz Renewables, Inc., the company’s renewable energy arm, has begun delivering electricity to the Luzon grid, AboitizPower said in a statement on Tuesday.
“As demand for electricity continues to grow, power generation investments like San Manuel help strengthen our energy system, diversify our energy mix, and support the Philippines’ long-term energy security,” AboitizPower President and Chief Executive Officer Danel C. Aboitiz said.
The San Manuel Solar Power Plant is Aboitiz Renewables’ third solar facility in Pangasinan, joining the 154-MWp Laoag 1 and 2 Solar Power Plants and the 94-MWp Cayanga-Bugallon Solar Power Plant.
Mr. Aboitiz said the company has expanded its renewable energy portfolio from about 900 megawatts (MW) in 2020 to 2.3 gigawatts (GW) of attributable net sellable capacity as of February 2026.
Aboitiz Renewables operates 45 renewable energy facilities across the Philippines, comprising solar, hydro, geothermal, and battery energy storage assets.
The company is also developing a pipeline of more than 1,800 MW of solar, hydro, and wind projects.
For 2026, AboitizPower has earmarked P62 billion in capital expenditures, primarily for renewable energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.
The Aboitiz Group remains the country’s largest power producer, with a total generating capacity of 6,850.63 MW, equivalent to a 24.3% market share. — Sheldeen Joy Talavera
